About This Place

O'Hara's Pub in Orange, CA is a beloved local bar that perfectly captures the spirit and camaraderie of a true hometown watering hole. Established in 1972, it boasts decades of history tucked behind its doors—every nook and cranny soaked with stories and laughter that longtime patrons will recognize and newcomers are eager to experience. With its authentic dive bar vibe, O'Hara's is the kind of place where you immediately feel welcomed, whether you're stopping in for a quick pint or settling down for an evening of fun.

What truly sets O'Hara’s apart is its lively and knowledgeable bartenders who bring both skill and personality to the bar. Elyse Janel praises their bartenders for their quick, expert mixing and genuine friendliness even when the crowd thickens, while Kyle Thompson highlights Amy’s warm hospitality and her standout Bloody Mary. The bartenders perfectly balance professionalism with a welcoming approach, inviting you to relax, unwind, and come back again.

The drink menu is straightforward but expertly crafted, boasting strong, well-made cocktails and draft selections that satisfy any connoisseur’s palate. The Guinness Draught pours smoothly, an ideal companion for their signature Watermelon Mojito concocted by Jason Gardner—a refreshing, inventive twist that adds a burst of summertime delight. For those who favor something with a spicy kick, the Michelada and the classic Bloody Mary deliver bold flavors that never disappoint. Prices are fair, and the stiff drinks ensure you get good value, as Sal Gonzalez enthusiastically notes, especially after seeing the pub reopen post-pandemic.

Beyond the drinks, O'Hara’s offers a vibrant environment filled with character. The walls are adorned with fascinating décor, including tributes to local Irish heritage and volunteerism, as mentioned by Kara S, who found the atmosphere rich with charm and stories. With three pool tables to challenge friends and a jukebox to crank up your favorite tunes, the pub transforms into a hub of laughter, singing, and light-hearted competition. Therese Duffy’s group found nothing but warmth and care from the staff, who even thoughtfully looked out for designated drivers, proving that community spirit is alive here.

While O'Hara's doesn't serve food, it warmly welcomes outside meals, inviting guests to bring their own snacks and share in good times without missing a beat. The casual, unpretentious setting makes it an ideal spot for everything from after-work drinks to lively weekend gatherings.

In essence, O'Hara's Pub is more than just a bar—it’s a cornerstone of Orange’s social scene, where the drinks are strong, the people are friendlier than your average dive, and the vibe is unpretentious yet vibrant. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, a stop at O'Hara’s promises a memorable experience wrapped in genuine hospitality and heartfelt community spirit.

EXCELLENT bartender! She was quick and made great drinks. Very knowledgeable. When it got busy she didn't miss a beat. I wish I remembered her name, she is maybe 5'3" petite with brown hair. The vibe was friendly and welcoming. Would definitely return

This is a review based on my experiences coming in various times. O’Haras is the hometown bar that you either have heard about or been to if you’re a resident of Orange. They open at 12p daily and might open earlier on Sunday for sports. They don’t sell food but welcome outside food if you get hungry. The drinks are stiff and the prices are fair. I was ecstatic to see they reopened after Rona. It was awesome to see the friendly faces who work here and come here. I recommend you come check it out if you’re in town. Staff is friendly and people treat you how you want to be treated. They got a Touchtunes jukebox for your listening pleasures

Est. 1972...O'Hara's has been wetting local whistles for a good long time...and the days and nights of the years are soaked into the walls of this great little dive bar. A must stop on the walk of libations! Amy was our bar keep...super friendly, and makes a great bloody mary. O'Hara's! You bet!! Be sure to bring a hazmat suit to wear in the restroom...disgusting!

First time at this bar and walking around displaying some amazing things, Gail is hailed as the Irish Saint as many photo and plaques of her giving back with volunteerism contributions, but you have to really look. So many Great Wall decor at this pub, pleasure to grab a pint or two.

A group of friends walked in after having lunch down the street. Bar tenders were friendly and took care that our glasses stayed flowing even for those of us who weren't having alcohol, someone has to be the designated driver. We laughed and played pool on one of the 3 pool tables, cranked up the music as we selected our favorite songs as we enjoyed singing, dancing, cheering for ach other playing pool, and swapping stories. What a fun day!

Went here today and it was empty. Jason (?) was super nice and made the experience very memorable for my sister that was in town from out of state. Try the Dirty Monkey!

Pretty cool little Irish dive in the circle, friendly crowd the music can change based on who's at the juke box. It's got 3 pool tables in the back so if you don't want to wait youre gonna have to show up earlier. Drinks were average not too strong but tasted pretty good. Reasonably priced for an OC bar
